Pushups
If you're new here, you may want to get my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! I couldn't do this without the help of my commenters!
One of my goals is to be able to do 25 pushups in a row. Now this may not seem like much to some of you but to me it is quite a few!
I started off by adding a few pushups to my routine at the gym and have been adding one every session this year.
I’m up to 15 in a row. I normally follow up with a few sets with the aim of eventually building up to 75 total pushups. At the moment my total pushups for each session comes to 42. Every session I do at least one more than the previous session.
It will take me a while to work up to my goal but I’ve learnt that slow and steady wins the race so I will continue in this way.

Hmm… I think I can do 1 push up.
Even Emma can do more push ups than I can

I can do something like… uhm… five in a row? (Boy, do I lack training.) Well, at least these are real pushups, not the girly kind (on the knees).

I am right there with you…I don’t think I could do more than two “classic” push-ups, though I could probably do 15-20 “girly” push-ups (knees bent and resting on the floor).
They’re tough!
I’ve been thinking lately about starting them myself at home. It’s not like it takes that much time to bust out two stinking push-ups!
Maybe I’ll start tonight…thanks for the inspiration!

To be honest, so far, I’ve only been doing them at home. I don’t want to be seen like this in the gym (yet).

Lori: Go for it. It just gets easier. I’m also trying to do pullups and I can only do 2 in a row after about 8 weeks of trying. But it’s getting better. It just takes time and effort.
Kery: I was like that when I started doing the pushups. Did them in the bathroom at home (nice flat floor with no carpet) until I could do at least ten.

I guess we all have our vain moments, huh.
(Seriously, when you enter the weights room and see RandomGuyN°2 and 4 drop to the ground and do 30 in a row, it’s hard not to feel extremely self-conscious!)
