Weigh in

If you're new here, you may want to get my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! I couldn't do this without the help of my commenters!

Today I stepped onto the scales and weighed in at 104.4 kgs (231 pounds) which is a 1.3 kg (2.8 pounds) loss from last week. That means I have reached another one of my milestones with over 75 pounds lost. :) My total lost now is 76 pounds and I have 44 to go.

I read a good article via Cynthia about how the scale lies when you weigh yourself that I found very interesting. I can testify to this as my weight has fluctuated rather wildly. If you go look at my daily weight loss graph you’ll see what I’m talking about.

  1. Yupp, sometimes the scale isn’t the best measuring tool. To me, it’s what you feel on the inside that’s more important……………….:)

Congratulations on the 76lbs. That’s quite an accomplishment. Keep up the good work.

  2. Thanks Lisa. Much appreciated. Sometimes what you feel on the inside is so darn influenced by that number on the scale though! ;)

  3. Oh yes… gotta love checking the scales every morning… not once, but twice, eh? Or maybe even 3 times? :P
    Just to make sure…

I guess if you measure yourself enough, you will find that the weight basically fluctuate a lot during the day.

I found that I’m actually lighter by around 8-9am if I haven’t eaten anything, compare to 6am ish, which is when I normally weigh myself, if I am not distracted by something else… and then started eating… :P

    Anyways, well done :)

  4. Shhhh…you’re giving away my secrets. ;)

  5. But I was talking about me! Oops… :P

  6. One way to combat the wild swings is to use a 15 day average. There is something out there called the Google 15. I use a spreadsheet. (I’m happy to share if you’re interested — just email me.)

This softens the peaks and valleys. So many factors can impact you from day to day.
