Weigh in, pushups and a virtual 5K

If you're new here, you may want to get my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! I couldn't do this without the help of my commenters!

The weigh in gods have been kind to me this week and I’ve knocked another half kg off my total.

I’m down to 92.87 kgs (204.7 pounds) now which is unbelievably low for me.  If I didn’t lose another gram I’d be happy to tell the truth but I’ll keep pushing on.   In many respects I think I’m no longer really trying for weightloss - I’m much more interested in my fitness.  Which is a great place to be.

onehundred125x125I did day 01 of week 02 of the 100 pushup challenge in the gym today.  Today I was required to do 12, 12, 9 , 7 and max (min 10). I did 12, 12, 9, 7 and 12. I had no trouble at all today.  I guess it’s a bit of an easier session after the tough one at the end of week 01.

I’m getting a bit lazy with the max set of pushups so I’m going to make a real effort on Wednesday to do quite a few more than the minimum.  I know I could have done more today but the spirit was weak even though the flesh was willing.

I also participated in a virtual 5K today.  Technically I was supposed to do it yesterday but I figured it’s still the 29th in America so I’m fine. :)

I did it on the treadmill as I wanted to go to the gym as well.  Ironically the weather is glorious today and it would have been a perfect day for a run outside.

I think I did my fastest 5k ever on the treadmill with a time of 26:41.  I felt really good so I carried on and did another 5K which came in at 29:30 which, when you add them up (56:11), means I got a treadmill PR in both the 5K and the 10K!

  4. I’ve just finished week 2, and my maximums have been the minimum too for the past two sessions. That’s mainly because I have a two year old who thinks it’s fun to jump on Daddy when he’s in the middle of a pushup.

  7. Kudos !!! I am impressed with your ability to track your weight online with those fancy graph. I should be able to monitor my own. I started on running precisely 3 years ago. My weight when I first started out was 185 lbs (my waist was 34) As of now, my weight fluctuate between 151.5 to 154 lbs for a pretty long time. I wanted to hit 150 - period. However, my weight just go back and forth between 151 to 154. My waist is now 32.
Keep it up with the pushup - I have my own ritual and I always do 25 pushups before I go for my run.

I just finished Week 2 and had a new high for my number of push-ups. I’m excited to start Week 3, but the numbers are a little high. I will be taking longer breaks between my sets………………….:)

  14. You definitely continue to be an inspiration to many.

Congrats on the loss this week. Fitness and health are definitely the focus, but it’s amazing what that number on the scale means to most of us.

Good luck with your mysterious surgery, all fingers crossed.

  17. curious have you always been able run during your weightloss journey? Now that I”m sidelined, I realized I need to figure out some other ways to watch my food intake and burn some calories.

I only started running in January. Before that I used to just use the cardio machines in the gym and do some strength work with weights.
