Lack of sleep = a shorter than planned run & I won!
If you're new here, you may want to get my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! I couldn't do this without the help of my commenters!
I only got about 4 hours sleep last night due to my beloved little daughter waking up at regular intervals for some reason.
As such, the run today was rather hard. I wanted to do a 10K tempo run but very early on in the piece I decided to make it an easy run. Then I decided to make it a 5K easy run. I got to 6.3K and decided that enough was enough and decided that I would do 10K tomorrow rather than the 5K I had planned. It will all work out in the end I’m sure.
I was also a winner in Steve’s (Run Bulldog Run) competition. The prize is the great new book Dean Karnazes: Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days which was released yesterday. I’m really looking forward to reading it.
And everyone seemed quite interested in my lunch last week, so for your viewing pleasure here is this week’s lunch:
Some Japanese noodles, carrots, cashews, onions, garlic, courgettes and sundry other vegetables.
I also had another visit from my physio and he’s ordered another week off the pushups. Bugger.

Did Steve waive his no prize postage outside of the US rule? That was the only reason I didn’t enter.
Anyway congratulations – have you read his first book – it was really good.

I volunteered to pay postage if I won so he made an exception for me. I haven’t read any of them but will pick up a copy.

Congrats again on the win!
Sometimes life gets in the way. Good job with not getting down about it. I sometimes have a hard time not getting so obsessed that a run like that would ruin my day.
Hope for better nights sleep to come!

You will definitely enjoy reading the book. It took me a little over 2 days to finish the book. Let me know how you like the book. It looks like you are a very good chef.

Hey Andrew,
Great site. Very inspiring. I’ve seen you on a few blogs. Amazing story you have and what a great weight loss you have accomplished. You are quite the speedster on the roads too.
Keep up the great running!!

I love Dean Karnazes. I’m actually going to a charity event that features him in October. I’m *so* excited (and now poor b/c of the fee…lol).
Weird question, but are those kombu noodles? Every time I cook, everything ends up looking like mush and only tasting good to me. I’ll never get married tee-hee!
Congrats on the contest win!

Great Job on the win and great lunch.
Sorry the push-ups isn’t happening for you right now, but it is far more important that you heal up right then push the issue and hurt yourself again. The push-up challenge will always be there.

50 marathons in 50 days?? That’s impressive, but . . . it sure sounds like hell on the knees.
