A not so good run

I went for a run on the treadmill at the gym before work this morning and unfortunately it was one of those runs that is just not good.

The first kilometer was great.  I was in the groove and pounding along.  After that though things went downhill rather quickly.  I started to feel nauseous at about the 4km mark and decided to cut the run short at the 5K mark.  I had to go have a sit down as I felt dizzy and wanted to throw up.

I’ve got no idea why this happened but I guess it’s just one of those things that happen every so often.    I wasn’t trying to go particularly fast.  I hadn’t eaten anything dodgy.  I was well hydrated.  Weird.

Maybe something to do with the inner ear? That can cause dizziness & nausea. Probably just a fluke!

It is weird how one run will be great, bu the next day it can be yuck…

Hope your next run is good. Also I think we need the bad runs so we know how good the good ones really are!

You did eat breakfast before running?
I always have to have something on my stomach before running to keep from getting nauseated. Even if it is a cracker..

I’m gonna go with “how you feel when you are fighting a hidden virus”, Alex, for 1000.

(although come to think of it, do you all get Jeopardy with Alex Trebek in NZ?)

    Feel better!

I hope it is just one of those days when it just feels miserably and not some pending flu or smth

I wonder if its the treadmill – you seem to go allright out on the road? My yoga place is in Alma St Newmarket. The link was at top of my post. Come along its a great cross training workout plus you can get flexible.

I had all the same thoughts (ear? food?) but most important is that you knew to STOP, took care of yourself, and chalked it up to a bad day and you a bad you.

    I jest—-but only partially.

reading this also make me think YOU HUMAN!! YOU HUMAN!! so thanks for sharing to remind us of that as well…

Maybe it’s the treadmill. I personally can’t run on them as they hurt me where the road does not. I can run on the elliptical just fine, though!

Hope you’re next workout is better!

Don’t over analyze it unless it becomes a repetitive problem.

Did my first run/walk today on the C25K program! It was great!

Though I am sorry you had a bad run, it is a good reminder to me that not all days are going to be great and to keep plowing through. Thanks for sharing both the good and the bad.

Wow, that sucks. I’d chalk it up to “wierd” unless it happens again.

Sometimes bad runs happen to good people, I am sure it is a one time thing.

Yeah…I guess that must be it. But it’s a bit weird as I had my normal meals etc.
