Not bad this week! It’s much better when I have a normal week and things are back on track.
Unfortunately I’m on a training course this week and the food choices are not too good. I’m going to take along some fruit but it looks to be a struggle with temptation. The course is reasonably boring so I must try not to snack my way through it!

Andrew - it is good to see you are getting back on track! Keep up the good work!
Wish I could say the same was true for me

and THAT would be my struggle. Im a bigbig boredom snacker (and funwatching tv snacker. and Im reading a book Im enjoying snacker. but this isnt about me)
Id urge you to bring protein too (though fruit sugar alone makes me want more fruit/sugar…..sounds like youre NOT the same).
nuts? beef jerky? those are 2 easily eating in meetings should you need to and dont stink (hello tuna!) or need to be refridgerated.
just a thought.

Good points. I might take along a protein drink.

I know eating right when away from home is very hard. But you can still get a good workout to elevate your metabolism for hours. Good luck :). (I have some specifically designed workouts on my blog if you want to take a look :))

Ah, look at that beautiful green!
I am a boredom snacker as well - it is probably my biggest obstacle to losing, overall. My only tip is to act up in class a lot and be generally annoying to everyone. It really distracts from the boredom.

Nothing like a big basket of chips or pretzels to avert boredom.
No doubt you’ll make it through.
Way to get back on the wagon.

Andrew — great job getting back on track. You and your blog are a real inspiration to me as I get moving again! We are vegetarians as well, and my husband always has a difficult — nigh unto impossible — time eating while gone on business trips. The foods offered are rarely healthy and nutritious — and usually there’s nary a vegetable in sight! Best of luck.

Yaaay for green!
I hear you on the boredom snacking. At home or on a normal workday, we usually have the option of going for a walk (or run, if you’re that type), but when we’re held captive in a class, the snack table is a very tempting distraction! Be strong, Andrew! Think green!

Business trips are a big challenge to me — sounds like you have motivation and a strategy, though!

I think I would make sure to have something to sip on. There’s some great ideas here for snacks too!

I would also have a problem staying away from snacks and soda. Even if I do pack food for a day of classes, it never seems to be enough!
Stay strong!

That’s awesome to see the numbers going the right way.
I know how boredom can be a major gateway to bad snacking episodes - I’m planning on making a sign to put in my cubical at work saying “You’re not a buffalo - you don’t graze!”
Keeping mentally on top of my food plan and meal schedule (early snack and late lunch and lots of water at work) helps me do well.

You remain an inspiration Andrew. Keep it green!

Bordom eating is a problem… you can munch away and not even notice what you are doing.
I like mizfits suggestion for protein snacks as well, you will get a better sense of having eaten.
Also - if you keep your hands busy, with something like worry beads or stroking stone (nice round pebble works well for this) You might cut your need to eat a bit….(moving the automation from your mouth to your hand…)

i’ve got more pink than green and the beer and pringles i’m snacking on won’t help my cause either.
