Cookies on the run?
If you're new here, you may want to get my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! I couldn't do this without the help of my commenters!
I’ve been on a course for the last three days and it’s been hard to get any time to blog as I’ve had to catch up with work related stuff in the evenings.
The course was quite interesting but the food was an issue. I had way too many cookies but such is life I guess.
One of the attendees at the course told me that Dean Karnazes will be in Auckland soon to give a talk so I’m going to try and go along to that. I’ve been reading his book before bed and am up to marathon 27 now. It’s an inspiring tale and I’ll do a proper review once I’m done with it.
I did a 5K run this morning before work. I’m on a recovery week this week so I’ve been taking it easy. I think my body has thanked me for it especially after the longish long runs I’ve been doing on the weekends. I know that on Monday and Tuesday I had some rather sore joints - especially my left ankle. It’s fine now so the rest has done it some good.
6 weeks to go to the Auckland marathon so I think it’s time to start doing a bit more speed training! :)

Hey Bro,
Can you save me a few of those cookies. They look good!
Glad that your recovery week is helping you sort out any aches you have. I can’t believe my body is healing up with the amount of miles I’m at right now. (I’ll have a two day break this weekend.)
Keep from tempation, but if you must .. have one for me, too!

I think that talk would be very useful for you. Just try and stay away from those calories if they find you

Yay for cookies and Dean Karnazes!! I wonder if he ever eats them… I would love to hear that man speak. You’ll have to tell us all about it so I can live vicariously through you!

Cookies are my weakness…so I’ve tried to start only eating the really good one’s…unfortunately I seem to think they are all really good… except the store bought Chips Ahoy and such. Anyhow just thought you should know we all deserve a cookie… and then we all need to go run.

Pure evil. I will be having lunch at a place that makes really good oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I think I am in trouble.
I read the 50/50 book over the weekend. It was great! I also loved the Will Smith speech about the keys to life: running and reading. I have the reading part down, running is next.
I have finished week one of the C25K program and started week two today (my running schedule is Thu-Sat-Mon). I feel great, but suffering a bit from shin splints. That has always been the bane of my existance on any high-impact activity.

That would be awesome to see Dean K. in person. You have to go and fill us in. Man, I haven’t had cookies in a long time. I am in a mood for oatmeal raisins cookies. Glad you brought it up. I am going after now.
