Running with the ducks

We’ve had some great weather (if you ignore the odd rain shower) in Auckland the last few weeks.  This means I’ve had some great runs outside.

On Sunday I went out to the Domain with my family and as they went looking at real ducks in the duckpond I did some more laps of the mile track there and happened to see another duck (picture on the left) of my own!

Today the sun was out but there was an icey wind blowing so I wimped out and went and ran in the gym.  I wanted to just have an easy run for an hour so that’s what I did!  I did 10.6km in the 60 minutes.

I’m just about over my lurgy but not quite yet.  I still have a runny nose but I reckon another day or two and I’ll be back to normal.

I was hoping to go for a run with the Adirun Nightrunners (the duck people) tonight as they have a 10K run at 6pm on Tuesdays.  Unfortunately my wife has now come down with the dreaded lurgy so I had to be home to do toddler duty. Maybe next week.

Yes the weather the last few weeks has in the main part been glorious.

Nice effort at the gym. I struggle on the treadmill and get bored too easily – do you listen to music?

“Nightrunners” sounds pretty cool. I’m guessing that start their runs off at the shop in Newmarket?

Oh no, the lurgy strikes again. Hopefully it doesn’y do the rounds of the whole family again!

On this side the blogs are starting in on the whole running in the dark dilema, soon to be followed by the running in the cold dilema no doubt. I will live vicariously through your Spring and Summer running over the coming months. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Colds suck so much. I’m pretty much 100% over mine, but still a little niggle in the throat.

I never knew the Domain had a miletrack. That’s pretty cool. I won’t be using it any time soon, but that’s cool :D

I think it’s just about finished going through everyone in the house. At least, should be uphill from now…

I want to go running too…..
