Weigh-in #6

Well, it has been a reasonably good week on the Physics Diet front.  I’m down half a kg this week to a new record low.  I had a scale weight record low yesterday as well but not today.  I could have done even better for my weigh-in today but unfortunately I cracked and had some ice cream late last night.  In my defence we had the hottest day in 121 years here in Auckland yesterday.  Combine that with the close to 100% humidity and it’s been rather nasty.

I’m finding it really hard to run in this humidity.  I wanted to do a 10K yesterday afternoon but after 5K just could not breathe properly anymore.  It’s really annoying.  I much prefer winter to summer.  You can always dress warmly but society frowns on excessive nakedness.  At least it does in the case of overweight men!

If you look at my chart for the last 30 days then you can see an interesting pattern emerge.

Guess where the weekends are? Still the overall trend is distinctly downwards so I’m not complaining. :)

It could be the weekend, or, since it appears your last peak was on Monday, it could be your long run. I’m willing to bet your eating on the weekesnds is pretty good as disciplined as you are.

I track daily now as well, and have about 5 months of data in Excel. Day after long run, weight drops. 2 days after my long run my weight goes up about 3-4 pounds. 3 days later it comes back down. Every week.

    Just a thought.

    Keep up the good work!

That has to be a good feeling being at an all time long weight. That is what you meant, right? Just keep plugging away, your almost there and then what is your next goal to achieve? What ever it is I am sure you’ll go at with as much motivation and determination as you did with this great weight loss.

Great job on the new low! Too bad about all the humidity.

That’s an interesting tidbit that Aaron shared…I’m going to watch that a little closer now.

Excellent job! I’m amazed at your progress for the last month, and more amazing when I take in the fact that your scale is in Kilo’s!
I feel your pain on the summer humidity. I have to regulate myself to early mornings or late evenings. I usually run into work for extra mileage, and then do PT with my unit for a couple more miles.

Running when the humidity is high sucks! There’s so much moisture in the air that it doesn’t evaporate from your skin, which keep you feeling hot the whole time. Not to mention that it feels like you’re running through pea soup…

You have a very strong will and are a driven person. You continue to lose weight even at lower starting weight( much harder of course.) Minus what you use to weigh. Keep up the great job!
It’s weird hearing about your record heat on the other side of the world. We have all been freezing here!
    what temp was it?

Good progress there Andrew. I’ve seen the same sort of “cycle” and I hardly do long runs at the weekend. However, I have noticed the behaviour Rob describes.

Great progress! I shouldn’t worry about the weekends as long as the overall trend is satisfactory and yours is! Mine, much less so.
