Who stole the bridge?

Today’s schedule called for a 5 mile run but I decided that I was feeling good and decided to do my harbour loop run which is about 11km.  Conditions were perfect at the start.  It’s one of those glorious spring days here in Auckland today.  However, by the time I got down to the harbour area I was running into a huge fog bank.  The bridge had all but disappeared:

By the time I got to the CBD the fog had burnt off and could only be seen in the distance:

It was quite a cool experience (figuratively and literally!) and I really enjoyed it.

The run itself was fantastic.  I just felt good the whole way and it’s probably the fastest run I’ve done since my last race.

Overall 11.04 km in 1:01:28 which I’m quite happy with.  So far in September I’ve averaged 10K a day. :)   Gotta love the marathon training.

Great that you captured that fog on camera – it was an awesome sight wasn’t it. Averaging 10km per day is a v good start to the month :-)

Great pictures. I’m a fellow Aucklander so I know where the places are!

Btw, have you ever checked out the Mark’s Daily Apple blog? It contains some pretty unique information on running which you might be interested in checking out.

Did you have the road to yourself? Looks very quiet and deserted out there…

10k a day average is fantastic.

I’m more of a night person so my fog runs aren’t as frequent, but fun (and creepy) when I get to do them.

Do you think you’ll break the 4:30 mark in the upcoming marathon?

Awesome Andrew. What are you taking photos with? I’ve often wanted to take a photo while out, but I don’t want to run with my iPhone.

Andrew, I admire you for having the determination and will power to do a run like that every single day. Or is it with that like with going to the gym – once you are in a training rhythm, you kind of can’t stop or you feel like you are on “cold turkey”?

I’m not a diehard Oprah fan, but I have caught the occasional show and I think her current shows have much more heart and positivity in them than the early days of “I’m having my sister’s ex’s kids baby-or am I?” <a href=”http://www.becominghealthynow.com/loving_life/”>affirmations for change
