Weigh-in #12 2010: Red Alert
It had to happen – I’ve got a red! But having said that I’m not letting it bother me at all. The red was caused by me having a very salty snack the night before so it’s just water weight. I actually had a pretty good week. As a matter of fact, I saw the lowest weight I’ve seen in 18 years on the scale just the day before I got the red. So it’s about a 1 pound loss for the week:
That overall trend line is still going downwards even though it’s slowing somewhat as I approach goal:
I’m expecting to see myself flash under goal weight on my daily weigh-in sometime in the next two weeks. I was only .3 kg (just under a pound) away on Saturday morning. It will take a few weeks for my trend line to catch up but that is a good thing.

Glad to hear that you know where you were before that salty snack!
Being aware is the key! Good for you & hope the tightness is subsiding!
Also, I am going to link to you post about the danger of being comfortable this week – I think Wednesday.

Nice job Andrew: You’re getting close. I can’t wait for you to make it. Went for my second 20 miler this morning. My left calf is really tight and sore.Even took an ice bath for the first time. Hope I wake up in the morning feeling better. Keep on rocking it!

Great work Andrew. You only just barely peeked into the red for a day, so it doesn’t seem like anything to worry about. I’m excited for you that you are so close to your goal!

Re: the slowdown as you approach your goal weight, do you think that’s due to the fact that you’re approaching a more “normal” weight and thus your body can’t change as fast, or are you having motivational issues? I suspect the former, as I’d think being so close to your goal would provide more, not less motivation.

Hehe you got red!
You have lost a TON of weight… it had to happen eventually. I’m around 30 pounds from my goal weight.. and I’m finding it’s getting harder and harder to lose weight as well. You may have actually gained muscle in the process?
Does salt effect you that much? I have salty snacks all the time and I never thought about it effecting my weight so much.

Yep, it must do as I had a 4 pound gain overnight which was pretty much gone the next day.

What a great way to analyze your progress. The closest I’ve come to your method of measuring weight loss is a piece of paper and pencil next to my scale. You’re almost there, keep up the good work.

Great job even though you saw red this week. Wonderful that you don’t let those normal fluctuations sidetrack you!

Sounds like you’re coming in for landing soon so reaching your target with a bit of a red is not the end of the world. What is your target and why did you pick it as the target if I may ask?
