Weigh-in #20 2010: So near!

Oh dear!  I’ve had my first gain of the year. :)   I can live with a .02 kg gain.  Although it is a bit of a wakeup call in many respects.  I’m still not handling weekends well.  I’ve been doing great during the week and then blowing it all over the weekend.  I’m going to set myself the goal of having another all green week.

The year itself is still looking ok:

My physics diet weight was actually under goal for the first time this week but the weekend ruined it.  I’m .01kg over goal weight on physics diet now.  So unless I totally blow it I should be there next week!

I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet but things have been busy and unfortunately I’ve not made enough time for blogging.

  1. At least you are still on the right track. The weekends don’t seem to bother me, it is the one day here or there that get me.

    Keep it up!

  2. I know what you mean about weekends. That is where I have the hardest time too with maintaining my caloric intake. It’s a good thing we run those long runs on the weekend to offset some of the excess calories, huh?

  3. The last few kg’s are really hard to shift. I think you are doing great.

One thing that might be happening is you are probably getting really used to running the longer distances. You might want to try mixing it up, maybe some shorter interval training or incorporate some cross training?

Yep, after the Christchurch marathon I’m going to mix it up a bit more.

  4. .01kg over goal weight? That’s barely anything – I’m sure you’ll have no problem at all getting there next week. I know what you mean about weekends though, they’re still tough for me too. It’s much easier when I’m stuck at work and just have my set of healthy snacks for the day, without access to anything else to munch on.

  5. Good luck this week. I flat-lined over the past week because I wasn’t able to run (or do any other sort of exercise, for that matter). But the good news is that I’m holding steady more or less steady even in the absence of exercise — and I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to resume normal exercise soon.

  6. I recently started training for my first 10k witches is in a couple weeks. It seems like every weekend I take two steps back for the one step forward during the week.

  7. First gain of the year and it’s hardly a gain. You are doing great considering the last pounds are the hardest to lose.

  9. Boy, that’s not a gain, my scales don’t even measure to that degree – just call it even!

  10. Hanging tough Andrew! Keep it up!

Weekends get a lot of people off & for some, ruin a whole week’s worth of healthy eating. Looks like that is not you BUT I developed my own strategy for the weekends & maybe doing that will help you. I pick a couple treats.. I dn’t do whole days….

  12. Andrew, looks more like a plateau effect going on for you now more so than a gain. Not sure if more running is what you need; like I would know.. or of more blogging will do it :-) Blogging burns calories; no?

  13. I think you are doing so great. I wonder if that’s what maintenance looks like. A few days up, a few days down, and it all evens out in the end!

  14. Looks all good to me, I reckon if we know exactly where we’re going “wrong” (I wouldn’t call maintaining too wrong), then it is still right on track. I find if I have a good weekend, it sets me up for a good week and vice versa, only problem is, some weekends are just too full of good (bad!) food offerings!

  15. Andrew – don’t worry about a again of 0.02kg. Most people eat way more than that in a single meal. Understand that your weight will fluctuate (kind of like the stock market) but overtime it will go down if you continue on your path!

  16. The weekends are hardest for me too. It’s not a bad gain so don’t let it get you down.

Everyone seems to be pretty busy these days and not finding time for blogging. We all understand. :)
