Weigh-in #21 2010: Mission accomplished.

Last week I set myself the goal of having an all green week and I’m pleased to report that I did it.

2010 is looking great:

However, I reached a more important milestone this week.  This is the first official weigh-in post where my Physics Diet (official) weight is under goal.  So I’m officially under my goal weight.  Boy that is great!

It’s been just under 8 years since I said enough is enough and started losing weight.  And to be honest it’s been quite the rollercoaster ride.  I’ve lost then regained many a time yet each time the loss was a little bit more and the regain a little bit less.
I only started using PhysicsDiet to track my weight in about 2008 but I’ve filled in a few gaps (with memorable occasions where I knew my weight):

Slow and steady wins the race I guess?

I think I’ll try and dig out some before photos and post them here. :)

Andrew, congrats on the acheivement! What’s next?

    GOAL! Well done man.

How are you planning to avoid another regain? I guess “being a runner” makes that much harder to do now.

Wow! Congratulations on a tremendous achievement. What a ride. Now that you’ve reached your goal weight I assume that maintenance is the next goal. But do you have any running related goals that will help keep you on track?

Congrats Andrew! I’ve been following your journey and I am happy to see this part of it come to an end! The easy part is over. Now keep pushing for a lifetime of maintenance! Good job Andrew, I wish I was at my goal yet…

Congrats Andrew. This has been inspiring to see, especially with the training you’re doing. I know how tough it is to eat properly when you’re burning tons of calories with running. Looking forward to seeing how this translates into your running goals.

    Eight years? Wow.. what commitment.

I have only been serious about my weight loss for six months or so.. I don’t see how I could continue for eight years.

Sure I’ll continue to eat right and exercise often, but I don’t see myself counting calories forever, especially now where I have just about reached my own goal.

Congrats though, slow and steady is still a win.

That’s great. I have been impressed by your graphs – didn’t know there was an actual product out there for it though.

    Congrats!

Excellent work mate! Speaking from experience, maintenance is easier, but still requires lots of hard work, discipline and sensible living. I know you can do it!

Great work Andrew, it’s very exciting to have “officially” reached your goal weight! Even if it may have taken you a while to get here, I think it says a lot that you have stuck with it over all these years and remained persistent about getting and staying healthy. Here’s to many more healthy years to come!

Slow and steady. Slow and steady. You motivate me than almost any other blogger.

Well done Andrew! When you say “all green” are you referring to green leafy vegetables and the like or green from an environmental perspective?

Eight years!! That’s really inspiring to me, and makes me realize how easy it would be to let all of this hard work go to waste/waist! Congratulations on reaching your goal weight, too! I’ve found that my goal weight is always a moving target. When I was 225 lbs, it was 200. When I was 200, it was 190. When I was 190, it was 180. You get the picture. I know that my “ideal” weight is supposedly 171, and I suspect that at the conclusion of this week, I’ll be there. After that, I think the mirror is going to have be my guide rather than the scale!

Congratulations Andrew! I’ve hit a plateau recently, but I’m hoping that adding running to my workout mix will help with the weight loss
