Thursdays are good for PBs!

Last Thursday I managed to set new PBs in both my 5K and my 10K times. This Thursday I managed to improve them both again.

My new PBs are:

5K in 23:46
10K in 48:30

This round of marathon training is really making me faster over shorter distances.  Hopefully these times translate to faster speeds over longer distances too!

I need to buy a new camera as my cellphone just stopped working.  I’m thinking of getting a waterproof point and shoot that I can take out running.   I’m looking at the Sony Cyber-Shot TX5 at the moment.  I miss taking photos out on the run!

A good run with two training PRs

I had a great run this morning.  Thursday mornings are supposed to be tempo runs and my original plan had been to take it relatively easy as I’m supposed to be running again tomorrow morning with my running buddy.  However, as I pressed start on my Garmin I felt a surge of energy and just started to run faster for the joy of it.

I hit the 5K mark at 24:00 flat which is a new 5K PR for me and that spurred me on to try and beat my previous 10K PR of 50:10.  I’m pleased to say that I quite easily crushed it and did a personal best of 49:27 for the 10K distance.  That’s my first sub 50 10K and hopefully the first of many.

I felt great afterwards so I think I’ve got even better times in me.

Malaise

I’m finding it hard to blog at the moment.  Still lacking mojo I guess.
