On holiday in Taiwan

I’ve been verrrry quiet lately and that has mainly been because I’ve been on vacation in Taiwan the last few weeks.  We’ve been packing in heaps of little trips around the country and it’s been pretty full on every day.

The eating has been pretty good!  A bit too good but I’m not too concerned as I am still running most days.

Here are a few photos from some of my runs around the place:

There are some good places to run but it’s very different to NZ as you have to go to a spot to run.  You can’t just run around the neighbourhood.  The reason for this is that there are little businesses on the footpath!  So even if you get up early to avoid the crowds of pedestrians you still can’t really run around as the footpath is blocked most of the time.

Anyway, I’m running in the Taipei marathon on Sunday this week and am really looking forward to that now!  Hopefully the temperature will drop as it’s been very hot and muggy here most of the time even though it’s winter!

    Andrew,
I live in Danshui! Only a five minute walk from the Danshui MRT!

Noticed the comment about the weather, this recent weather has been great – finally cooling down after an extremely hot and humid long summer.

I am getting excited about Sunday – I am doing the 21km – my first half-marathon.

    Best of luck –

Andrew – I am really sorry that you have had to deal with such a horrible place to run these last weeks :)

Good luck with the upcoming marathon – sub-4 is yours!
